How to tell your fascia is failing
Peeling and bubbling paint
The first sign moisture is getting into the timber. Once the paint film breaks, the board soaks up water and the rot accelerates.
Soft or spongy timber
If it gives when pressed, the timber has gone. Paint will not save it, and gutter brackets will not hold in it.
